is it wrong to say i don't like boganess in my (future) man? sure i don't mind befriending the guy and all that but seriously, i doubt i'll be able to stand a whole lifetime worth of aussie-ness. no offence to aussies, but i am firstly a singaporean and an asian, so it'll take a bit to get it out of me. i don't mind integrating into the society and all, but it'll take a while man...

and also, is it wrong to wanna date for long-term, rather than pour yourself into something that wil just ultimately end up in tears. i think i would rather protect myself before i get into anything. if that's anything to say from past memories. aish.

you can obviously see that someone let me down.

the tale of my sony vaio
so i was just talking to jofid the other day in regards to getting a laptop for my uni work, for the convienience of it. she had just gotten a new sony vaio from her dad since her mac broke down on her recently. she managed to get a pink snake skin sony vaio, praise the Lord for His providence. :)) this was before the 16th of oct.

16th of oct, gonggong passed on. mommy and daddy rushed back to singapore.

nothing was heard of my laptop business till daddy and mommy called back from singapore to ask how we were and whether we wanted stuff from sg. i jokingly said i wanted a laptop. "you think we got a lot of money issit??!!!" was daddy's reply. so yea, joke's out of the window.

wednesday the 22nd. i had just spent the previous night stressing myself out on the speech i needed to present on wednesday morning. woke up so unprepared and late, rushed out of the house and forgot my mobile so i had to use gran's that switches off by itself during calls, and got gogo doris to drive me to uni.

so i was late to class and i presented the speech immediately after arriving, all frazzled and tensed. but thank God He managed to calm me down to sufficiently complete the speech without much of a hitch save for that concluding para which i was whizzing past at such a speed, i'm pretty sure i ommitted like 50% of the content. after the speech, i didn't wanna even go for my last genetics prac. just spent the afternoon snoozing in the student lounge.

so i jigged class and went to jb hifi with zee and jase. didn't have any particular need for music or games so i wandered around the store and loitered around the laptops + external harddrives. saw a tiny asus laptop going for 598 and i was thinking, that's quite a steal so i called my dad up and asked him whether i could get this laptop + one external hard drive since it was only that cheap. before i could hear his answer the phone switched off by itself. i rushed to switch the phone back on and called him from my previous dialled numbers.

male voice: "hello?"
me: "eh, daddy, can i please get a laptop? it's just $598 at jb hifi, can anot?" spoken like a true blue singaporean
male voice: "...huh?"
-phone cuts off-

cursing at the phone, i was just contemplating on that convo i had earlier.. wait a minute, i realised that that wasn't daddy, but instead was tim. i had called tim and 1) called him in a singaporean accent, which he prob had no idea what was going on and 2) WORSE OF ALL, called him daddy. *hides in a corner and waits to die*

in any case i texted him back apologising for the mishap and he replied that i had a surprise waiting for me at home. i thought nothing much abt it.

then i got home, and there wasn't any surprise. so i texted tim and called him usotsuki. -_-"

daddy came home and decided to start lecturing me on getting a laptop and all the responsibility it entailed. with the conversation looking to have him get me a laptop, only if i sourced around and got the one that best suited my needs and that i promised to pay half of the cost, he got up and went around to some boxes we have lying in the corner of our living room and pulled out a black case. i was still deep in thought about the laptop business thing when he hauled the case toward me on the sofa. it was the sony vaio. :D

he had decided to get me a laptop whilst he was back in sg. ended up choosing a beige/gold model. he was thinking that tim had ruined the secret by leaking out that i had a surprise waiting for me at home. ahah!

truly it is God's providence. :))) can't you just see it?
