man i'm sneezing up a storm here. no idea what i caught on the way back up from jervis bay. woo~ head's woozy...

today we planned to head down to jervis bay for a bit. we left at around 8am. the weather forecast had said it's was gonna rain so my hopes weren't that high. but anyway, we still went to go try our luck. man. on the way there. on the stretch between sydney and wollongong. heavy rain and fog. best. -_-" so anyway. it took us around 3 hours to get there. esp with gogo doris's SUPERRR SLOW 1800cc van. oh well. at least we got there and back. ahah!

the whole day had a constant reminder of the looming gloominess, clouds following wherever we went. but nevertheless, we managed to secure a little snapshot of sunlight just after lunch. and we got photos!

so here's my story of last night that lasted to this morning.

United6@Space was the event i was headed to. i had already endured a day of work from 8.30am to 4.30pm at the dentistry, so i headed to home to get ready. missed the 6.25pm train (due to my excessive need to look good =P) into the city so i called lee to reschedule to the next train and i managed to get that, but even with that, we still missed each other. so we ended up meeting on the townhall train platform.

popped by maccas to grab my dinner, tried the new chicken snack roll which i had to walk and eat at the same time. ahah! pretty unmannered sight for a dolled up girl crossing the street trying to figure out the mechanics of her mini chicken wrap.

we proceded to walk to greenbox plus to pop in to meet fee and say 'hey' to lyvia. paid our required $10 per person in the room, but ended up choosing songs which we didn't even get to sing cos we decided to walk out to meet fee's friends at sharkies.

met up with cindi, cecilia, doris and david outside sharkies and walked into sharkies for intended pre-drinks. more ppl started popping by, edith, hester, sarah and a truckload of fee's umacq friends. we then did the all-girl ritual at bars, 'anyone up for a trip to the loo?'. ended up spending about 15 odd minutes trying to help hannah (another one of fee's umacq friends) try and figure out an outfit for clubbing. she brought a whole wardrobe!

anyway, so after all that, we walked out and just hung around a bit more. fee got a call from another bunch of uni friends saying that they were already in a line outside space. ended up standing there for an extended period of time, during which, other ppl started arriving, xixi and her friend selina, sean, johnny and jason. scariest thing happened partway through lining up. one of fee's friends in uni, A, passed out and just went down like a log. like some of us thought he actually split his head on the pavement. it was that bad. fee says that he does take stuff so that probably got him a bit out-there, plus with all that pushing and sardining at the line up outside space, i would expect someone like him would be seeing stars. anyway, they managed to get him concious after around 10 minutes of unconciousness by splashing him with water. ambos came by and he got carted off.

you guys can give up reading now, there's still quite a bit more. i just felt like typing all this shit up. XD

anyway, we continued being sardined in the line. and me and xixi were thinking we were never gonna get pass, being at the corner of the line. then miracurously, the bouncers singled me out and told me to get past to the entrance. paid entrance and stamped, waited in the lobby to get up to space. music was already pumping.

started rounding up with all the girls again to recount and regroup. then another toilet time! ahah! we girls love the loo. anyway, this time it was good. i just casually said that i needed some touching up cos my makeup had totally melted after standing in the stuffy stifling line up, and xixi offered to doll me up again! with her work products; ie, she works at napolean perdis. ^^ plus! so i just had to stand there and let her do her stuff. and then others just came and started asking her to help touch up or to borrow her stuff to touch up. she had yummy smelling hairspray. hehe! but anyways, after all that, we just decided to camwhore a little, seeing that all our hard work painting at our faces was gonna come off with all that manic dancing and drinking.

me and fee. ^^ anyway, so we trouped out, and my massively huge uni bag got dumped at the cloakroom for safekeeping.

the next part of the night was a little hazy. what with all the loud music, painful feet, losing ppl in the club, trying to find lost ppl in club, drinking, laughing, dirtay dancing, dance offs, podium booty shaking, singing along to the music and the likes. ^^ hee!

met geoff, gary and stan and unknown friend with that ubiquotious '1up' mario tee (from here, he shall be referred to as 1up) at space, they arrived sometime later than us.

then another scary thing happened. lee just stopped me midway dancing and said, 'jay, my mouth's bleeding' O.O xixi and i brought her to the toilet and i assessed her teeth, nothing seemed amissed, just a really reddened area near her wisdom teeth area. so we told her to just wash out her mouth, and got ice for that. she then decided to call it a night, cos she said in the first place that she didn't really like the atmosphere of space (true that, the music of the first few djs were a little dismal).

we then had to find some way of me getting back home. the best thing was to get the guys. who all lived in hurst. man. why must i live so far away. in the shire. -_-" so after kissing lee off to safe trip back home, xixi and i just went to try and find a place to let our feet have some time off. we went to the pool table side of the club and just sat and chilled. met jordan too. ^^ pretty gf too! jessica. when geoff and stan came over to play pool and ask me for change for pool, i asked them whether they could help see me back home. and xixi also spoke for me. threatening them. ^^ heh!

but it was all good. went back to a little bit more of dancing, there was a booty shaking contest for two free passes to next week's friday space event, summer luau, and a fashion showcase of this designer.

after a bit of that, trouped off to the pool side area and met up with johnny, geoff, stan, hester, fee and xixi. the guys have decided on leaving, so i went to get my bag and changed to my flats! thank god i brought my flats. saved my feet till this morning. so after much losing of ppl in the group, which consisted of geoff, stan, sean, johnny, jason, jordan, jessica, gary, 1up and me, we managed to get out of the club. to walk to george st. the plan was to catch the bus to hurst, get off and johnny drives a bunch of us. stopped on the way at hungry jacks for some of the guys to eat. managed to talk a bit to jessica ^^ nice girl! then after which, jordan went separate ways to send jessica home.

which left me. the only girl with 7 guys. not that i haven't done that before. ahahah. so deja vu though. heh. anyways, the 3.30am bus filled up to max, so we couldn't get on. had to wait for the 4am bus. stood/sat around with the guys mostly talking to stan, geoff and johnny. gary was drunk. totally off his face and singing lee hom songs for the whole world to hear at the bus stop. poor kid realised he split his hand punching a phone booth only later in the bus. anyway, we managed to catch the 4am bus (sean had to take the next bus that went to sutho) and i was there, just paranoid that gary will chuck, and then this guy comes and stands next to me that looks like he's gonna chuck too. >< shiettt. with gary on my right snoozing on my shoulder and a random on my left who had dozed off and was edging towards me, i felt sufficiently sardined. gary used me as a pillow the entire time. shushed him up a few times his singing got a little out of hand.

i then got the chills from the bus airconditioning and from the rain outside. stan reallyreally nicely gave me his shirt as a second covering. 'it's only short sleeved, but at least it's something.' aww.. he's taken anyway. if that's what any of you guys were thiking ahah. ^^ managed to just rest a little on gary as he slept for a little just staring outside of the rain-splashed windows. jason, stan and johnny got off at kogarah to pick up johnny's car and to drop jason off. 1up had previously gotten off at an earlier stop. so gary, geoff and i got off at hurst to wait for johhny to come round and pick us. cos it was full pouring by the time we got off at hurst, just as we got out of the bus, gary wrapped me in his jumper and ushered me out of the bus. another aww... moment. ^^ while geoff went off to piss, gary and i just waited huddled in a corner of the bus shelter. so we waited, gary slept on my lap and i just chatted to geoff.

johnny finally came and stan was there, so i returned him his shirt which i had forgotten to hand back to him before he got off at kogarah. and also gary's jumper which had been keeping me warm at hurst. proceded to drop gary, then stan and then me, the furthest. along the way just chatted to geoff and johnny. once again i wonder why i live in the shire. ahahha! but yea, by the time i arrived back home, day was breaking. it was 5.30am.

i walked in the door and my mom was there watching telly. sigh. one day they've gotta learn to just sleep and don't worry abt me. i know it's gonna be hard being the parental instinct to worry abt offspring and the likes. SIGHH. but one day. after taking off makeup and winding down i managed to plonk into bed at 6.15am. and i slept till 11.45am. and decided to give janine's surprise party a miss. too tired and i still had to work the evening too.

Trifle. x3 if you guys haven't tried it, you've been missing something good.

there are a few versions out there but my family speciality is Raspberry Jellied Strawberry Sponge Roll Trifle with Mixed Fruit Salad. drooling yet? ahah! alright so here it goes..

first of all, you need to get strawberry sponge rolls they sell in the bread aisle. those mini little rolled-up sponge rolls. got them? then next, you'll need jello, preferably raspberry/strawberry/berry mixture. mm, let's see, then you'll need custard powder. or if you're that lazy, just grab a carton of custard from the dairy section. although personally i don't like them cos they're too milky and not sweet enough for my liking. so i do mine to my own taste. oh and also at the dairy section, grab a can of whipped cream, or cream. if you do get the normal cream however, you'd need to put in the elbow grease and beat them to a fluffy texture later on. or an alternative is to bring out the electric beaters. don't forget a can of mixed fruit, whatever your preference may be, personally i like mango and peaches, but for the family i decided on mixed fruit salad. and finally, the final touch, slivered almonds.

alright now we're making trifle.
get a big dish, and line the dish with the sponge rolls, make sure it's even all around. then prepare the jello according to the pack and pour over sponge rolls in dish, making sure the sponge rolls soak up the jello. now put that into the fridge to set. depending on your jello, may take up to an hour or overnight, but whenever the jello's set then you can move onto the next step.
get your can of mixed fruit and put a layer of fruit on top of the jellied sponge roll layer. if the sponge rolls don't look too soaked in jello, you can douse them in a bit of the mixed fruit salad syrup. and then we're ready for the custard. make the custard according to the package, or just pour from carton. and then a layer of cream, whether from a can or whipped. ^^


roast the almonds in the oven on grill mode. and sprinkle almonds on trifle. TADAH. all done. now dig in!
